A Pakistani wedding is a chain of functions, and décor decisions made early save money and stress later. This checklist is built for Sialkot families: it goes function by function, then gives a suggested timeline, and finishes with a practical comparison of fresh and artificial flowers. Tick off what applies; skip what does not. If you want a quick price picture first, see the wedding décor cost guide.
Start here: decisions before any function
- Fix the function list. Which of dholki, mayun, mehndi, engagement, nikkah, barat and walima are you holding, and are any combined?
- Set a total budget and split it. Decide the share for the main stage, the entrance and smaller functions.
- Choose the venue type for each function. Home, rooftop, lawn, marquee or hall each has different rules; see the venue guides.
- Estimate guests per function. Seating and stage size follow this number.
- Pick a colour direction. Browse the themes lookbook and collect reference pictures.
- Note outfit colours. The bride, groom and parents' outfits affect the backdrop.

Suggested décor timeline
These are planning suggestions, not guarantees. Wedding season (October to March) is busy, and we recommend booking at least two to three weeks ahead for Mehndi and Mayun stages. Earlier is better for weekends and for several functions together.
- As soon as dates are set: share the function list and dates; check whether your date is workable using the check-your-date form.
- Early planning: collect reference pictures, agree budget per function, and visit or video-call the venue with us.
- Booking: choose a package per function and pay the small advance (PKR 3,000–20,000) so the date is confirmed in writing.
- Two to three weeks before: finalise colours, signage text, flower choice and guest numbers.
- One week before: confirm venue access time, power points and who meets the team on site.
- Day before: large mehndi stages may be set up the night before; confirm times.
- Event day: setup normally takes three to six hours. Inspect, request tweaks, then pay the balance on handover.
- After the event: removal is arranged after the function.
Fresh or artificial flowers?
Neither is better in every case. The right choice depends on season, time of day and budget. A full comparison is in our fresh vs artificial blog post; here is the short version.
| Factor | Fresh flowers | Artificial flowers |
|---|---|---|
| Look | Natural scent, texture and petals; stunning in evening light | Consistent and tidy; quality varies, good ones photograph very well |
| Heat and daytime | Wilt and drop petals in direct heat | Unaffected by heat |
| Cost | Adds roughly PKR 10,000–30,000 to a mehndi setup, depending on quantity | Part of the affordable base in starting prices |
| Setup timing | Best installed close to the event | Can be installed earlier |
| Best uses | Couple's seat, garlands, centrepieces, evening functions | Large backdrops, ceilings, daytime and outdoor use |
A popular and sensible compromise is artificial or marigold structure for the wide backdrop with fresh flowers concentrated around the couple's seat, where cameras focus.

Frequently asked questions
When should I start booking wedding décor in Sialkot?
As soon as dates are fixed. In wedding season (October to March) we recommend at least two to three weeks ahead for Mehndi and Mayun stages, and earlier for weekends or several functions.
Can the same stage be reused for two functions?
Often yes. Mayun and Mehndi booked together can reuse the base structure with a colour change, which typically saves 20–30%.
Who pays the balance and when?
The balance is due on the setup day, at or before handover of the finished décor, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Can you arrange dholki and sound?
Décor is our core service. Dholki, sound and lighting extras can be arranged through partner vendors on request.
